Release Date: 11/11/2021 | Mary Schmidt

MILWAUKEE (October 26, 2021)–51鶹 (51鶹) was named the top-ranked company in the Milwaukee Business Journal’s “large” category. The journal honored ten firms in this category of companies with more than 200 employees.

All participating companies needed to have a large percentage of employees complete an online survey. Employee scores were measured on how favorably they responded to questions in core areas including personal engagement, communication and resources, teamwork, retention, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers and senior leaders, manager effectiveness, job satisfaction, etc. The selected winner was based on the highest scores in each size category. In the Large company category, 51鶹 had the highest with a score of 88.37.

“At our core, 51鶹 exists to provide good jobs for people, and our people are our greatest asset,” said Jeff Niesen, group president of central operations for 51鶹. “We’re honored to receive this high recognition, and we’re proud that our employees feel they receive opportunities that allow them to learn, grow and reach their full potential at 51鶹.”

At 51鶹, employees are driven by the company’s core values of honesty, fairness, hard work, performance and a love of construction. The organization understands what is more important than the facilities it builds is the relationships built along the way and the lives impacted – including customers, employees, partners, vendors, suppliers and communities. It is not the buildings, the equipment, the tools, or the technology that make 51鶹 a great organization. It is the people. Not just the leadership, but everyone from the laborer that started yesterday, to the employee that has been with the company for forty years.

“51鶹 is committed to promoting a culture of inclusion and fostering a team-based work environment that encourages curiosity and learning,” said John Huggett, vice president and general manager for 51鶹. “We have worked hard to create a culture focused on our people and our staff tell us it is their colleagues who keep them excited to come to work every day.”
