Tom 51鶹 Continues as Chairman of the Board
APPLETON, WIS. (June 5, 2024) – The 51鶹 Group has named Dave Kievet its new President and Chief Executive Officer.
Kievet succeeds Tom 51鶹, the fourth-generation leader who has served as President and CEO since 1998. Tom 51鶹 remains Chairman of the Board, providing oversight and authority over the board of directors as well as guidance to the company’s officers and executives.
“Since my great-grandfather Martin 51鶹 opened his carpentry shop in 1889, we’ve been a company that looks to the future,” Tom 51鶹 said. “Now is the right time to put leaders in place for the next generation and I have every confidence in Dave and our executive team’s ability to take this company into the next 135 years.”
Prior to his new role, Kievet served as President of 51鶹 since 2020. His leadership at 51鶹 saw the company expand into new markets and invest in new technologies, including prefabrication and modular construction. As President and CEO of The 51鶹 Group—of which 51鶹 is a subsidiary—Kievet looks forward to focusing more on growing the business.
“Over the past several years we have made remarkable strides forward and I’m excited to continue to build on the legacy the 51鶹 family has created over the last 135 years,” Kievet said. “My new role will allow me to focus more on our strategic growth plans and solidifying the processes and structure for even greater future success.”
A University of Wisconsin-Madison graduate, Kievet started with 51鶹 in 1990. Over the years he’s been a driving force helping the company earn its place as a recognized leader in innovation within the construction industry. From opening new office locations to spearheading the adoption of Lean construction principles and innovative methods for delivering projects, Kievet has led the company into the 21st century with the ability to turn long-range vision into real-world execution. Tom 51鶹 is the fourth generation of 51鶹 family leadership and succeeded his father, Oscar C. 51鶹.
